    Where did it begin?

Self-esteem is the overall sense of self-worth or personal value that an individual possesses. It reflects how much a person appreciates and likes themselves. It can look very different for each individual. I´d like to see low self-esteem as the little voice in your head that thinks you are less than, not worthy of. The kind of thoughts that makes you feel lack of love for yourself. That says you are not good enough, or just a sense that something feels off. It´s not always possible to know where it comes from, but the good thing is you can help yourself feeling better, feeling worthy and happy.

    How to Improve Your Self-Esteem

It’s important to work on building and maintaining a healthy level of self-esteem, as it plays a crucial role in overall mental health and well-being. Activities such as setting realistic goals, engaging in self-care, seeking positive social interactions, and practicing self-compassion can all contribute to improving self-esteem.

Improving self-esteem is a journey that involves both internal reflection and external actions. Here are some steps you can take to boost your self-esteem:

    1. Become aware of your own thoughts about yourself.
Often we are not aware of the constant chattering in our heads, most of in on autopilot.  Take a piece of paper and a pen and write a lite about things you think about yourself every day. It might be in different situations during the day, or things that just come up.

When you are aware you can first start to acknowledge when these thoughts pop up in your head. Now when you do see the thought coming you have become aware of your pattern. Start to reflect when it pops up and then chose to say: Is this really true? No, these are thoughts in my head. I now choose to see and change this thought to a positive one. Instead: I am capable, I am worthy of love, I do have things to contribute to.

This is a start in how to begin see your own patterns, to first acknowledge them. If you don´t know they are there it´s hard to change them. So, write a list and then start to become aware during your days. You can even have a self esteem journal where you write your thoughts and progresses.
